From its founding, Blue Technologies has dominated its market area with growth in revenue, service and financial stability.
July 5, 1995 -- Paul Hanna founded Meritech Blue (the company’s original name). Armed with a vision, and a proven owner/management team of Keith Stump, Bill Nelson and David Morrill, Blue Technologies entered the office equipment industry with a focused business plan and high expectations. And it is still reflected in the company’s mission statement today:
Blue Technologies is a customer focused organization providing industry-leading products backed by world-class service. Committed to providing its customers with the best products independent of any specific manufacturer, Blue Technologies operates in an environment of disciplined, well-trained and highly motivated employees representing sales, service and support
Blue Technologies' leadership knew that their customer service philosophy would be the cornerstone of the organization’s success. Together, they defined and implemented Blue Technologies' unmatched Commitment To Excellence. This five-point customer guarantee allowed Blue Technologies to exceed the industry’s standard for customer service and remains the company’s benchmark of customer service success – ‘A satisfied Customer is not loyal, only a completely satisfied Customer is loyal.’
As customer needs and technology changed, so did Blue Technologies. The company’s explosive growth provided the financial wherewithal for it to implement a Total Solutions approach to their business by moving beyond only copiers and facsimile machines. Recognizing the importance of new digital technology, the visionary management team began to employ MCSE, MCP and CNE professionals as well as Certified Document Imaging Integrators, capable of helping their customers maximize the use of both new products and evolving technology in the explosive digital document imaging and network services area. These insightful changes have positioned Blue Technologies as one of the top 1% of office equipment and service providers in the country and gained the company local, regional and national recognition.
Since its inception, the Company has earned numerous prestigious awards including the Weatherhead 100 list of fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio; the Northcoast 99 Award from the Employee Resource Council as one of the Top Employers in Northeast Ohio, and Office Dealer Magazine’s list of the 70 Top Office Equipment Suppliers in the United States -- every year since its founding. The Company has exceeded its quota with its manufacturing partners in every year the company has been in business. Mr. Hanna and Blue Technologies have received Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award under the Business Services Category in 2000. And the list goes on.
To meet the needs of its employees and customers, the Company purchased its current headquarters and Technology Center in 1997. Now, with more than 55,000 sq. ft. of space in the Cleveland, North Canton and Columbus facilities, Blue Technologies will continue to ‘completely satisfy’ the needs of its customers as it continues to grow.
Helping Blue Technologies grow has been management’s ability to attract and hire quality professionals with a shared vision. This has allowed the Company to make strong, strategic acquisitions. In April 1998, Blue Technologies purchased Edwards Business Systems of Canton, OH to accelerate its growth in the Akron/Canton market. In 2003, Blue Technologies purchased Modern Copy Systems to give the Company a major foothold in the Columbus/Central Ohio marketplace.
September 2003 -- Reflecting on several of its milestones, including its growth from four employees to more than 175, the Company realizes the need to maintain the trust of its customers by providing exceptional service; to add additional industry-leading products and services within its areas of expertise; to gain new customers within its current service areas and to expand into new markets based on strategic acquisitions.
